Should Bey Bey take a break?

I don't want to become one of those blogs that reports on the same person ALL the time. That person being Beyoncé Knowles. Don't get me wrong. I like Beyoncé. Do I think she is overrated? Yes. But is she good at what she does? Very much so.

The problem with Beyoncé is that she WILL NOT rest. She has been throwing projects (and booty and weave) in our faces since 1997. So everything she does feels like something she has done before (or something someone else has done before). I've been thinking this for a while, but seems like some other people are catching on as well.

There have been some stories in the news lately of people asking Bey to simply take a break.

One writer from STLtoday.com states, "She should sit down for a few minutes, out of reach of cameras and microphones. Such a break would suit us as much as it would her."

Another writer from EW.com states, "The only person that truly needs to get over Beyoncé is... Beyoncé."

She is even drawing criticism from other industry artists. Rufus Wainwright stated in a Spin magazine interview, "I'm really sick of Beyoncé. All of her songs are formulaic and produced in a way that's utterly mesmerizing in the basest way. There's no enlightenment."

Maybe these people just have a case of the -itis and don't know it.

So what say you? Do you think that it's time for Beyoncé to go on hiatus?
